Gold Plated Bronze Cowrie Shell Charm

The details on this seashell make it so life-like, it’s as if you found it on a nearby beach just this morning! Cowrie shells have long been special shells throughout history and in different cultures. Used as currency in many seaside communities or as adornment on clothing and jewelry, the cowrie shell can symbolize wealth as well as womanhood and rebirth.

Our gold plated bronze is 40 micro inches of 24K gold plated over bronze with a fine layer of nickel in between to prevent migration of the two metals, resulting in a very reliable product.

The design is stamped, not handmade (I suppose the price reflects this), but the pendant is very thin. Measuring one of the outer points without the jala beads, the material is less than one millimeter thick. It's about half the thickness of a dime there.
